What is raw honey?

Raw honey is unheated, unprocessed and unfiltered. oney in its raw form is one of natures’ most perfect foods. It is an antiseptic, antibiotic, antifungal and antibacterial. At this time of the year a teaspoon of raw honey can sooth a sore throat or a nasty tickle. Apply liberally to burns and ease the pain whilst speeding up the healing process. Its uses are endless.

Heating can kill most of the healing properties in honey and unfortunately much of the honey that appears on your local supermarket shelf has been processed in this way.

Our bulk honey and the Ambrosia Raw Honey have not been heated to extreme temperatures so the vitamins and enzymes are retained and so is the flavour.

Wray Tip - if honey candies and thickens it’s a good sign that it hasn’t been heated and is indeed “raw’ (particularly can happen during cold temperatures). Sit thejar in warm water to soften.
